For the Management of the Elefsis Port Authority SA. the safety of port facility users and the safety of the facility itself are now a top priority.
In cooperation with the competent state authorities (Port Authority, Customs, Police Department, Port Security Authority) an effort is made to ensure a safe environment at the Port Facilities by, depending on the current level of security, implementation of necessary measures and compliance with security procedures to prevent legal actions, as provided by European (Regulation EC 725/2004-Directive 2005/65) and National (Law 3622/2007 as in force) and as they arose from the resulting Security Assessments and are described in the respective cases approved by the Ministry of Shipping, Port Facility Security Plans of the Central Port of ELEFSIS and the entire Port of the same name.
Elefsis Port Authority SA manages the Port Facility of the Central Port of Elefsis - IMO PORT FACILITY NUMBER: GRELE-0009 - which falls within the scope of Regulation EC 725/2004 for the enhancement of ship and port security facilities, also known as the ISPS Code and the Port Facilities (Vlycha, Nea Marina, Kronos, etc.) in the wider area of Port of Elefsis, which fall in the scope of application of Directive 2005/65, incorporated by law 3622/2007 in National Law, on strengthening port security.
Contractor Private Security Services Company (CPSSC) implements and observes the above security measures and procedures under the guidance and responsibility of a contracted and approved by the Ministry of Shipping, Security Officer (PFSO), who at the same time exercises, in accordance with law 3622/2007, the duties of Security Officer of the entire Port (PFS) of ELEFSINA.
Among the security measures and procedures provided are access controls which include the identification of persons and vehicles authorized to enter the port facility and ensuring that they do not carry dangerous substances and devices, weapons, explosives and any other device intended for the purpose. has the destruction or damage to persons, ships and infrastructure and which should NOT be confused with the controls of the State Security Authorities.
The effectiveness of these controls depends, among other things, on informing the users of the Port Facility (employees, traders, ship crews, etc.), in order to ensure their support in the applied safety practices. The better the users know before their arrival at the Port Facility about the applied security procedures, the easier the controls that concern them with a positive result in their speed and quality, while additionally it is easier to isolate suspicious people and behaviors, so that the security organization to focus and focus her attention on them. Users are aware of the following in the context of this update:
Port Facility Portal
The Port Facility has a single overland access gate for pedestrians and vehicles. The approach of pedestrians and vehicles to the Port Facility Gate is through the coastal Kanellopoulou Road, which is located next to and east of the Central Port Authority of ELEFSIS.
General description of the pedestrian access system
Every person must be equipped with a special identification card to enter the Port Facility .
Authority employees / traders / staff are provided with an individual entry-level entry card , the issuance process of which is described in the next paragraph. According to the security levels and the category of their card (employees, traders, etc.) during access are controlled percentage:
the identification of the data of the entry card with the identity data of its holder, on the basis of a relevant state document, such as Police / Service Identity Card, Passport, Driving License, Health Booklet or any other state document bearing the identity card and photo of the holder, which must always be carried by incoming

The guards at the Gate provide all possible assistance and assistance for the unimpeded access of people with disabilities or people with special needs (disabled) to the premises of the Facility where and when required. This facility does not exclude such persons from the current measures and procedures for controlled access to Port Facilities.
Persons who do not have an entry card and are allowed the entrance to Lim. Any person wishing to enter the facility as a visitor, in order to be granted access, justifies the reason for entry and presents a valid document proving his / her identity (identity card, driving license, passport, etc.).
Vehicle entry control system at the Port Facility
The entry of vehicles in the Port Facility is allowed only to those who have been granted a permanent entry permit and to those whose owners / managers / holders request the entry of their vehicles on an extraordinary basis once or for a certain period of time and which entry is judged as necessary.

If it is not possible to identify a vehicle or its driver, entry is not allowed.
A necessary condition for a vehicle entry permit is that an individual driver's license has been issued at the same time. It is clarified that the permit to enter a vehicle is granted for a specific reason and after the elimination of this reason the vehicle leaves the Installation. Any refusal to search the vehicle by its driver results in the prohibition of access of this vehicle to P.F.
For the entry of trucks that are going to enter the Port Facility at a specific time for the purpose of handling cargo of ships, the prior and timely written notification of the security of the facility is required by the loader or the consignee or the contractor, of the cargoes for the data of: f / c vehicles, their drivers, the ship / s and the estimated service period of the ship / s loads. These vehicles are issued a specific type of entry card, common to the driver and the vehicle.
lorries entering the Port Facility exclusively for customs operations , their drivers are issued a visitor entry permit and a visitor vehicle entry permit, of a specific type, ONLY for the working day. Prior to the issuance of these permits, there must be a relevant advertisement from the customs broker to the security organization and the required declaration must have preceded the declaration at the Customs Office of the Facility Gate.
The vehicle duration entry card is displayed at the entrance and is carried on the windscreen throughout the vehicle stay in Port Facilities.
For the vehicles of the visitors who are allowed to enter the Port Facility, a printed card is issued, which is carried on the front windshield throughout the stay of the vehicle in Port Facilities and delivered at the exit of the vehicle to the gatekeeper.
All passengers except the disabled, in all types of vehicles entering the Facility, disembark before entering and follow the pedestrian access control procedure.

Procedure for issuing entry cards to employees, frequent traders, and visitors
Each body that employs employees or frequently traded in the Port Facility asks them to submit, through their body (see Association of unloaders / Shipping Agencies / private crane truck managers / Boat consortia etc.) with which they request the issuance of a permanent entry card for their person or for their vehicle at the Management of EPA-SA. The employer's employer also agrees to this request. If a person works or trades independently at the Port Facility, he submits the request himself. The request is submitted to the Secretariat of the Port Authority - 6 Kanellopoulou Street - ELEFSIS during working days and hours.

The entry card of the visitor and his vehicle is issued upon his arrival at the Entrance Gate at the Port Facility, 24 hours a day.
Handling of ship crews in connection with the Port Facility (of interest to shipping agents)
In order for the crews of the ships, except for the crews of ships/tugs that have as their basis of activity the Port Facility that is equipped with an individual entry card of a specific validity, to enter / exit P.F. the Master of the ship or the agent of the ship is required to deliver/send to the Security Organization of L.E. list of crew members, certified by the Central Port Authority of ELEFSINA, with their full details (name / Passport or Maritime Register Number or ID Card number for Greek sailors). GREW MEMBER cards numbered per crew member are then handed over to the Master or the ship's agent, valid for as long as it is estimated that the ship will be serviced at the Port Facility. This card must be presented at the entrance/exit to and from the P.F., or to the Patrol Service at the premises of the P.F. Nautical Brochure, driving license, etc.). These cards are returned before the departure of the ship.
Ship crew changes (of interest to shipping agents)
In case of change of crew members the ship's agent sends / delivers a list of members who will be fired, or who will be signed up to the Lim security organization. Installation, in order to facilitate the exit-input control from and to the installation.
Any baggage carried by crew members entering the Port Facility (by land or sea) is subject to inspection.
Providing safety information before a ship enters the port of Elefsis (interested in shipping agents)
